The Memory Wellness Program

WHO WE ARE:   The Memory Wellness Program is located in Seattle and Tacoma, Washington and serves the Puget Sound region of Washington state. We are dedicated to innovative research on memory-loss and aging, which spans the areas of blood sugar regulation, hormones, healthy aging, and Alzheimer’s disease. Our team consists of experts in aging and dementia, and includes neuropsychologists, physicians, nurses, biologists, and geneticists.

WHAT WE DO:    We conduct a variety of studies in the Puget Sound region that explore the relationship between insulin / glucose abnormalities and memory.   As a part of our research, we are evaluating treatments that may prove beneficial for older adults with memory loss and Alzheimer’s disease.

Examples of our research studies:

  • Glucose Regulation and Memory examines how insulin and glucose metabolism contributes to the development of Alzheimer's disease.
  • RECALL evaluates the effectiveness of rosiglitazone (an oral diabetic medication) in improving memory in older adults with mild memory loss.
  • SNIFF looks at the beneficial effects of a nasal insulin spray on memory for older adults with memory loss.
  • TRIM explores the influence of increased dietary fat on glucose and  insulin metabolism, memory and biological markers associated with Alzheimer’s disease.
  • MEAL examines the relationship between nutrition, insulin and memory.

If you are interested in participating in our research, please read the information
on the "Join our Research" page.

Please note: We are located in Western Washington and only serve the Puget Sound region.
